Getting the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Get the best value:

  • Book your Crystal Coast rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfect Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Sounds Perfect - Bright and airy sound front home w\/dock. 2 blocks to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
