Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking a perfectvacation home:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Side-by-side homes with two full kitchens, washers and dryers, & AC has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
