Booking the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Roosevelt Retreat, Almost Oceanfront House, Located in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
