Tricks and tips to get the best Crystal Coast rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose your prefect Crystal Coast rental:

  • To start, have your family decide on date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. 3 Bed\/2.5 Bath 1450 sq ft with Large Open Floor Plan, 3 Min Walk to Beach has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
