How to book the best vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. SeaSpray 104 Located in Oceanfront Complex has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
