Finding the best Crystal Coast rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Searenity, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

Have a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
