How to book the best vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sea La Vie- Oceanfront-Secluded-beautiful! Private pool and hot tub! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
