How to get the best vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To get the best value, change your family's Crystal Coast trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.

  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
