Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pier Pointe 1B2, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
