Finding the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the best rental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pet friendly cottage steps from the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
