Tricks and tips to get the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the best rental:

  • First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Pet friendly cottage steps from the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review.
