Tricks and tips to get the perfect Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pet friendly cottage steps from the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.

  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
