Return back to the entryway to a wooden staircase that leads you to the living area with an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings, wood floors, and 2 accesses to the sizable semi-covered deck with plenty of seating and a dining table. The completely appointed kitchen: stove, microwave, dishwasher (new), refrigerator with ice maker. Modest appliances: convection/toaster oven, blender, enormous toaster, waffle iron, electric fry pan, crock pot, deep fryer, griddle, and 2 coffee makers (Keurig, Mr. Coffee). Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Palm's Paradise, Oceanview Home located in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
