Rental property booking tips:

Find your best deal:

  • To book the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. New! Updated Villa in Emerald Isle, near the Point has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
