Tips for getting the perfect Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. MULTI-LEVEL OCEANFRONT CONDO NEAR FORT MACON STATE PARK has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
