Our top Rental booking tips:

When to go & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your family's Crystal Coast vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Beachwalk 315 - 4BR, 4BA - Oceanfront Condo with Gourmet Kitchen has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
