How to find the best rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Booking in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Maggie's Place, Oceanside House, in Emerald Isle NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
