Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Crystal Coast rental home experience:

When to visit New Bern & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best vacation rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 1 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
