Tips for getting the best rental home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing and booking the perfect Crystal Coast rental:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Coastal Cottage, walk to downtown Beaufort, close to beaches, pet friendly. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
