Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Studio:Lower Winter prices! Snowbirds Welcome! Bring your boat for fall fishing has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
