Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Downtown Blue Manor 1 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
