Crystal Coast rental home booking tips:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose yourrental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Double Up in Downtown New Bern! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
