Our top Rental home booking tips:

When to visit New Bern & When to book:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Crystal Coast area. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best rental in New Bern:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Double Up in Downtown New Bern! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
