Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Highly rated Beachfront listing! Linda's Lanai East has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, email the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home.
