Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Adorable Cottage on the Canal with Boat Lift has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
