Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your Crystal Coast vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Blondie East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
