Tips and Tricks to get the very best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Crystal Coast trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the perfect rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Beach Music II, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
