How to book the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the bestrental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A series of villas surrounded by oak trees, a 2 minute walk to the Ocean has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is best for your family.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
