Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • To start, have your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Come, relax and enjoy all that Atlantic Beach has to offer!! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
