We are happy to share our home with you and really hope you get to appreciate it as much as we do. The original rustic beach bungalow was constructed in 1950 the addition finished in 2012. Our bungalow of the 50's features original knotty pine walls and ceilings to give you that comfortable secure feeling that we all need these days. It offers cavernous front and back decks with ocean vistas to the front and modest sound view to the back.

About the Area

Located in Atlantic Beach, this cottage is near theme parks and near the beach. North Carolina Maritime Museum and Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Anchorage Marina and Triple S Marina. Traveling with kids? Consider North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, or check out an event or a game at Big Rock Stadium. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

• June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
• Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
• Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.

• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
• Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
• Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
• Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
