Tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Third-row beach cottage with deck, grill, washer\/dryer & screened porch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
