- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
