Tips to get the perfect Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your family select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sylena's Retreat: 4 BR, 2.5 BA House in Atlantic Beach, Sleeps 8 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
