Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the rightrental home:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Southwinds F7, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
