Full of the classic charms of North Carolina's Crystal Coast, this adorable bungalow brings breezy comfort to any Beaufort escape. This is a place to spend your days sipping coffee on the front porch swing, strolling downtown, and calming at sunset in the cavernous and enclosed yard. This bungalow features a fenced piece of property across the road from Taylor Creek, about three-quarters of a mile from historic downtown Beaufort. You'll be within walking distance of the Island Express Ferry Service, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and a variety of stores and eateries. Public beach access on Radio Island (less than four miles), Atlantic Beach (eight miles), and Fort Macon State Park (10 miles) are close by as well.

Constructed in 1945, the home is bright and inviting, offering generous windows, hand-painted coastal-themed artwork, and thoughtful updates throughout. Highlights include a polished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a formal dining room, and a living room where you can curl up with a good movie or a book from the shelves. After a day at the beach, come home to toss your swimsuits in the washer/dryer, relax in central air conditioning, or linger outside on the porch with appetizers and cold drinks.

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback.
