Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Seaside Escape in Pebble Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
