Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to choose and book a perfect Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Start by having your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Quiet Extended-Stay Retreat - Pet Friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
