How to find the best Crystal Coast rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Pollock Cottage, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
