Our top New Bern rental booking tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. Book your Crystal Coast vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental in New Bern:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. PEACE AND QUIET.. residential has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
