When to book a Crystal Coast rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses.   • First, have your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.

  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback.
