How to find the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the right Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Condo-Breakers C32 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
