Getting the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and picking the perfect Crystal Coast rental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. OCEANFRONT! NEW listing! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
