Getting the best vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Crystal Coast rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental in Emerald Isle:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Oceanfront Oasis w\/double covered porch 4 BR\/2BA - updated Emerald Isle classic! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
