How to book the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Beaufort rental home:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental home:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Fantastic Views! On the Water, Pool, Jacuzzi, and Gym @ Olde Towne Yacht Club has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
