Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To book the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. NEW 4BD 4.5BA Home W\/ Incredible Beaufort Bridge Views, on Town Creek Marina has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
