Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Beaufort vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. One Bedroom Carriage House- 131 Craven Street\n300 feet from Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
