Strategies to get the very best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Crystal Coast vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the best vacation rental in Beaufort:

  • First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Calm Tide -On Ann Street, walking distance to Beaufort waterfront. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
