Getting the best Emerald Isle vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Finding the best vacation rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful Ocean & Sound Views! Luxury Vacation with In Ground Private Pool! has 9 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
