Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Crystal Coast vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the perfect Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Start by having your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beachy Haven
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
