How to get the best Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Near airport, restaurants, and river, Smart Tvs in all rooms has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
