Tips for getting the perfect Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking yourrental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Steps to the beach! Hear the waves & feel the breeze! Your home away from home! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
