Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Papa Jim's Front Porch-Oceanview Condo, Community Pool, 2 min walk to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
