Booking the best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best rental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Oceanfront - The Ocean Club - Sand, Sun & Family Fun - Indian Beach\/Emerald Isle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
